Consultancy >> Training Needs Analysis
Most people would accept that an organisation needs to realise the potential of its people and they are acquiring the knowledge and skills they need to make an effective contribution towards the organisation's goals. At the centre of human resource development therefore is Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
TNA is the systematic gathering of data to find out where there are gaps in the existing skills, knowledge and attitudes of employees. It involves the gathering of data about existing employees’ capabilities and organisational demands for skills, and the analysis of the implications of new and altered roles for changes in capability.
It often flows from the business strategy, as the aim of identifying needs is to be able to build a plan to offer appropriate learning opportunities to fill the gaps identified and ensure that there is sufficient capability for the organisation to meet its objectives. The SCE Enterprise team will work with you to provide:
- Data collection using a variety of methods such as interviews, observations, focus groups, performance data analysis, questionnaires or tests
- Data interpretation to provide a training programme to meet your organisational needs
- A cost benefit analysis of the proposed training
