Edinburgh is a city with a long running history with film, not least because of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

SCE Enterprise and Stevenson College Edinburgh recognises that most people like watching films. So much so that some people want to have a go at making their own. We have a suite of courses starting in February that will help budding film-makers do just that.

The Video Production course will help you develop the basic skills needed to make a complete production from start to finish.  Each session will concentrate on techniques to help you produce your own work whether it's a short documentary, a drama or a music video.

The Digital Editing course will teach you how to capture footage, edit it, put sounds and pictures together and how to apply special effects and short transitions.  The course is taught using a series of exercises which works towards you putting together a short individual project.

The Adobe After Effects course will provide you with a foundation knowledge of the techniques of digital compositing. This includes key framing, masking, motion text creation, multi-layer compositing and effects generation and manipulation.
