IOSH Managing Safely

An IOSH Managing Safely course recently took place at SCE Enterprise in Edinburgh with candidates attending from Lagwell Insulation, Link Group Ltd and St James Shopping Centre.  This four day course is designed to show how safety and health can and should be treated as an integral part of a manager’s responsibilities.  It is suitable for supervisors and managers from a range of organisations who are required to manage efficiently and effectively in compliance with both the organisation’s safety policy and health and safety legislation.

Pauline Walkingshaw, Health and Safety Advisor at Lagwell Insulation, said, “The feedback received has been very positive, giving each candidate a heightened awareness of their personal work environment's risks, how to reduce the risks and their responsibilities as both managers and employees."

Brian Gippert from Link Group Ltd added, "Staff who have attended the course have reported the training provided is relevant to the various types of workplace and work practices across the group."

The IOSH Managing Safely course can enhance career prospects within a range of industrial and commercial sectors and further study could include the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
