British Council awards Intellectual Property Training contract to SCE Enterprise
SCE Enterprise has won a European Procurement contract to be the sole supplier of Intellectual Property (IP) training to the British Council .
The British Council awarded the contract to SCE Enterprise after a European wide tendering exercise. The British Council faces a new challenge in that it must strive to complement any grant received by self-generated income. SCE Enterprise responded to the British Council's requirements of a bespoke programme of IP delivery to roll out on a global scale by developing a programme that will cover:
- IP rights (IPR) legislation
- IP relevant to the British Council's activities
- Copyright
- Designs
- Patents
- Passing off and trademarks
- Ownership of rights eg consultants, departmental bodies and companies
- Brand management
- Licensing agreements and types of licence
- Protection of IPR and infringement
SCE Enterprise will partner up with one of Edinburgh's top law firms, Maclay, Murray & Spens , to deliver the 3 year roll out contract to Product and Senior Managers in the British Council.
Andrew Campbell, Contracts Development Manager at SCE Enterprise, said: "SCE Enterprise delighted to be working with Maclay, Murray & Spens on this project. It brings together combined specialist knowledge and expertise from two forward thinking organisations and we both look forward to growing our partnership into other areas throughout 2010."
