The aim of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme is to help companies improve their competitiveness through gaining access to the knowledge and expertise based within UK academic institutions. KTPs are part-funded by Government organisations, led by the Technology Strategy Board .

Participating in the programme through SCE's Knowledge Transfer Centre involves forming a partnership between your company and Stevenson College Edinburgh, giving you the services of a Graduate Associate, employed by Stevenson College Edinburgh, but seconded full time to your company to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.

KTPs may run from one to three years to help your company achieve its strategic objectives. Shorter KTPs are also available and run from 10 to 40 weeks to address more immediate, tactical issues.

Your company is required to make a financial contribution to the KTP prorgamme, with SMEs contributing around one third, and large companies around half, of the project costs.
