Marketing for Non-Marketing Managers

Aim

This course will give an introduction to the fundamentals of marketing strategies and how they are applied.  It will focus on the key concepts of marketing and how it can help a business become more customer and market orientated.

 

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • use marketing terms
  • identify techniques and processes involved in marketing
  • produce marketing documents and plans
  • assess the effectiveness of marketing

Course Content

The course (standard) will cover:

  • what is ‘marketing’  and the marketing concept
  • market segmentation, targeting and positioning
  • the marketing mix – key concepts and practical solutions
  • constructing a marketing plan
  • managing marketing communications
  • making product marketing decisions
  • using information to drive marketing
  • measuring the effectiveness of marketing

 This course is highly participative and is delivered through a mixture of tutor input, large/small group discussions and activities.  The focus will be on the practical elements and the production of key documents required to be produced in the marketing environment.

Assessment
