Key Sales Skills

Aim

This course is designed to improve confidence in a sales situation.  It will look at a structured approach to selling and concentrate on providing ideas that can be converted to suit your own style and personality.

 

Objectives

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • identify and improve your personal qualities and skills
  • plan a sale and prepare effectively 
  • communicate effectively and establish a rapport
  •  establish and agree your customers needs and wants more effectively
  • present your product/service more persuasively
  •  deal with customer objections positively
  • identify, generate and maximise closing opportunities

Course Content

The course will cover:

  •  understanding your own selling style, strengths and weaknesses
  •  effective sales behaviour
  • preparing for a sale – understanding the customer, their business and needs
  •  effective listening and questioning techniques
  • building a rapport
  • selling a product or service effectively and how to differentiate your company and yourself from the competition
  •  handling and overcoming objectives
  • gaining commitment and closing the sale
This course is highly participative and is delivered through a mixture of tutor input, large/small group discussions and individual activities.  It will focus on work related issues and discussion will explore those raised throughout the course.

Assessment

This course is designed for anyone seeking to improve face to face persuasive communication techniques and is suitable for experienced sales people seeking fresh ideas or those new to sales needing to generate a more positive attitude, develop confidence and enthusiasm.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements although being already involved in the sales process in some capacity would be helpful.
