Marketing for Managers
Aim
This course will look at how to develop and implement an effective marketing plan and consider the benefits it can bring to a business or organisation.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- describe the marketing planning process
- write a marketing plan
- contribute to the implementation of a marketing plan
- monitor for results
Course Content
The course (standard) will cover:
- what is a marketing plan and why is it needed
- obstacles to marketing planning and overcoming them
- the marketing planning process
- using modelling techniques effectively and setting clear objectives
- segmentation, targeting and positioning
- writing a marketing plan
- plan into action
- testing and measuring
This course is highly participative and is delivered through a mixture of tutor input, large/small group discussions and activities. The focus will be on the practical elements and the production of marketing plans and the supporting material to support their creation.
Assessment
This short course can be used as credit towards the ILM Certificate in First Line Management at Level 3.
It is worth 1 credit and a written assessment must be completed to gain this credit.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements but some experience within a management role would be desirable.
