Aim

This course will develop your skills and knowledge to successfully get work done through others, to increase productivity and to reduce turnover in your team.

 

Objectives

On successful completion of the course, participants should understand:

  •  their management style and how to apply it 
  •  how to motivate staff
  •  how to improve communication with staff and senior management
  • how to deal with performance issues
  •  how to apply effective decision-making strategies

  •  fostering a motivating work environment
  • the principles of effective communication
  • resolving problems
  • handling responsibility and decision making
  •  self development plans

 

 

Assessment

This management development course is highly interactive and participation in a variety of activities, self-assessments, group discussions and case studies will help you succeed in a wide variety of situations encountered as a newly appointed manager.  You will take away from this course an action plan and the focus of the course is experiential activity.  Participants can be assessed against written submissions if this is desired.

There are no specific entry requirements.

This course is suitable for newly appointed managers or those expected to assume a managerial role in the near future.
