Change Management

Aim

This course will provide participants with an understanding of how to implement change within the workplace.

 

Objectives

On successful completion of the course, participants will have:

  •  considered the different ways people react to change
  • identified the main factors that can determine such reactions
  • considered the role of the manager in the change process
 

Course Content

The course (standard) will cover:

  • understanding change
  • stages of organisational change 
  • barriers to change
  • communicating change effectively
  • facilitating change
  • action planning

Other issues of change management can be covered if required, for example:

  • monitoring the impact of change
  • change and stress
  • developing a change strategy

This management development course is a mix of lectures and group workshops presented in an interactive format.  Real world examples are used to make the information relevant.  Throughout this course, learned skills are practiced using exercises based on the information presented and on the current needs of those attending.  The emphasis is on techniques that allow the transfer of the skills learned on this course to the work environment. 


Assessment

This short course can be used as credit towards the ILM Certificate in First Line Management at Level 3.

It is worth 4 credits and a written assessment must be completed to gain these credits

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements but some experience within a management role would be desirable.
