Sage Payroll

Aim

This course will provide basic training in the Sage Payroll (version 10) package.

 

Objectives

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to record basic payroll transactions and print off appropriate financial reports.  It will also prepare individuals for the IAB Level 3 Certificate in Computerised Payroll

 

Course Content

The course is based on a year’s payroll in a fictitious company.  The data covers 12 months and the Income Tax, National Insurance and other Government figures relate to the current tax year. The content Includes:

  • government parameters
  • national insurance
  • statutory sick pay, maternity pay
  • company information, pensions
  • pay elements
  • processing pay
  • additional entries and revision
  • year end routines
 

Assessment

This course is designed for anyone who wishes to learn more about the SAGE Payroll package and / or would like to obtain a computerised payroll certificate in order to improve job prospects or for a career change.

This course can be an end in itself or participants can go on to study other book keeping or accounting qualifications.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but a basic knowledge of manual payroll would be advantageous.
