Sage Accounting
Aim
This course will provide basic training in the Sage Accounting package.
The course will provide participants with comprehensive training in the latest SAGE Line 50 package. Completing the course will help develop participants' computerised bookkeeping, accounting skills and knowledge for use in the work place.
Completing this course may improve job prospects or help with a career change. It would also be useful to owners of small businesses who employ staff but don't want to have to pay for external bookkeeping services. Business owners and managers may also consider sending their staff for training and development in this field.
Currently, over 800,00 UK businesses rely on SAGE software. Over a third of the FTSE 100 companies are currently using SAGE products.
Objectives
Course Content
The training is based around setting up a computerised system and processing transactions for a fictitious organisation. The content will include:
- Setting up company, customer and supplier accounts.
- Entering routine transactions for credit/cash sales and purchases.
- Dealing with customer receipts and supplier payments.
- Processing salaries and wages.
- Correction of errors through journal entry.
- Setting up recurring payments.
- Dealing with bad debt.
- Accruals and pre-payments.
- Producing management and financial reports.
- Producing a trial balance and audit trail.
- VAT returns.
Assessment
This course is designed for anyone who wishes to learn more about the SAGE Accounting package and / or would like to obtain a computerised book-keeping certificate in order to improve job prospects etc.
This course can be an end in itself or participants can go on to study other book keeping or accounting qualifications.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but a basic knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and basic accounts is required.
