Creative Sound Engineering
Aim
The Creative Sound Engineering course will help you aspire to becoming a Sound Engineer or Sound Technician. You may like to be the next Timbaland, Mark Ronson or Pharrell Williams? This course will help you learn the skills needed.
Objectives
This is a hands on, practical course where you will learn in our state-of-the-art recording studio. You will have the opportunity to record live bands, as well as work on studio techniques. This course would be perfect for people who want to be more involved with making music. The course would also be great for those who would likt to record their own music as it will teach you valuable techniques to be able to record to a professional standard.
Course Content
This course is ensemble based and will include the following activities:
- Mixers and signal routing
- Effects
- Live sound engineering
- Microphones
- Dynamic processors
- Principles of recording
- Mixing and editing
Assessment
There is no formal assessment.
Entry Requirements
You should have a keen interest in music and sound recording and will learn from an experienced sound engineer/musician. You will not need to bring any equipment with you as it will all be provided by the college.
